Henry Gilbert, Managing Director
Henry, as well as being the Holistic Services Ltd Managing Director, is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and holds two degrees. His higher degree is Training and Development, an area in which he has had many years of extensive experience facilitating and inspiring leadership of the highest calibre.
Henry’s varied background has always been within the realms of leadership. His career has mainly spanned blue-chip companies, including British Petroleum, CBS Records and British Oxygen (BOC). The role within these organisations has predominately been within Human Resources, but Henry has also had responsibility for purchasing, supplier development and manufacturing. His last corporate role was for INA Bearing Company, where, as a director he had board responsibility for organisational and people development. Within this role, Henry had global responsibility for the successful implementation of “succession management” within the group, which extended throughout Europe, America and Asia.
A wide range of leadership development interventions have been designed, developed and delivered by Henry, many at Master’s level. Interestingly, Henry has been acknowledged by the Oxford English Dictionary for accrediting the word “andragogy” – the learning and development of adults. This philosophy of self-direction and “holistic” learning has been the hallmark of Henry’s approach to leadership and development. It was no surprise, therefore, when he, together with like-minded colleagues, decided to establish the management consultancy “Holistic Services Ltd” and successfully supported the development of business leaders throughout Europe.
Henry Gilbert is either a Director or Board Advisor to a number of organisations and is often invited to speak to them on a wide range of current leadership issues.
