New Academy Supports the Development of Aspiring Leaders, Managers and Supervisors in the West Midlands
Holistic Services has long provided consultancy services ranging from change and project management to leadership compentencies for businesses and local authorities. The company also has a long standing track record of partnering and supporting the automotive industries in the West Midlands. 
Under the Accelerate Transfer Technology Centre Programme Holistic Services has implemented over 100 Human Resource and Health & Safety systems for companies and provided a helpline covering issues such as discipline procedures, redundancy and Health and Safety queries. Networks on Health & Safety and Human Resources have been run as part of the programme and are currently running on ‘How to Integrate Management Systems’.

A new venture, the Holistic Academy, provides immersion courses designed to impart world-class leadership skills. Led by John Richardson, who has a background in providing training across many sectors, the courses are designed to match the quality of any in the UK. They range from development sessions for supervisors to a three-day workshop to help managers adapt to the leaner business structures of the 21st century.
Mr Richardson argues that ensuring staff have the latest training is an obligation for any company in the era of globalisation. "Knowledge was the first thing to become a global commodity”, he said, "but it is not just a grasp of hard facts that a company needs”
Instead, people must learn to think creatively and competitively. "You've got to look at the way people do things and the attitudes and behaviours. Our job is to maximise the strengths of a company, minimise the weaknesses, and all they will see are opportunities," John added.
Such optimism is rooted in the experiences of the team behind the training. Holistic Services was founded in 2000 and now has a turnover of around £2m. Support for organisations in the West Midlands is demonstrated by the company’s commitment to allocate 18 training days in 2007, rising to 98 next year, and 190 in 2009.
On the consultancy side, Holistic Services has worked with many companies across the sector including a worldwide supplier of Special Purposes Automation Systems, for whom Holistic Services supported the facilitation of their Supplier Development Programme resulting in improved performances in quality/cost and delivery; supported and developed HR and Health & Safety Systems; lead the implementation of Total Quality Management; the gaining of ISO2000 accreditation and the implementation of Project Management processes and Leadership/Team Development.
